REUSE

Although disposable bags and containers are usually top of mind when we think of “reuse”, there are many more opportunities to reuse items within in our daily routines. The trick to this is to pause and think about what you’re doing or want to do, and consider what you have - over time, these will become enjoyable little daily brainteasers!

COMPOST

If you have a little space in your backyard, or even in the confines of your apartment, you can find a way to compost. Composting not only reduces the volume of trash going to landfills, but produces great fertilizer and soil for your outdoor or container gardening needs!

TOILET WASTE

Other than driving a car, two of our daily rituals that most negatively impact the environment over time involves going to the restroom. Many of the big brands/bulk toilet paper use virgin fiber to make their toilet paper, therefore use of these products is directing contributing to the clearing of forests. On top of this, we average out to 14 gallons of drinking water per person per day to flush the toilet. This then ends up in sewage treatment plants, which use energy and chemicals to clean the waste, releasing nitrogen greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. There are more effective ways to keep clean while also benefiting the environment!
